Moon stock photos are very mysterious and eerie looking most of the time. They are not too difficult to take but do require some equipment. Becuase you are taking a photo at night you will need to use a slow shutter speed. This will mean you will need a tripod.
If you want to take a good photograph of the moon you will most likely need to use a telephoto lens. This will get you much closer to the moon and enable you to see fine details of the moon. The telephoto lens is basically a mini telescope.
Great times to take pictures of the moon are on special moon days like the eclipse or during full moons. Cloudy days can also create great photos when the moon is peaking out and covered by some clouds.
Because the moon is so high in the sky a good way to get closer is to go up a mountain. You could take much better photographs from a high mountain than from the ground. Also, try going to the top of a large building at take the photo from there.
